Since you asked, and because I'm so compulsively detail-oriented, I had to go see what my favs were this year. (Thank goodness for Shelfari!) I also read and loved Kristen Lamb's "We Are Not Alone" and Bev Nault's "Fresh Start Summer." Both are great books and got 5 stars on my Shelfari page. The only others to earn that rank were:

-Another Kristen Lamb book: Are you there Blog? It's Me, Writer
-Lessons from the Mountain, Mary McDonough (a poignant look at a child star's life in Hollywood)
-Shadow of Colossus, T.L. Higley (the adventures and struggles of a female consort in 250 BC on Rhodes)
-The Alloy of Law, Brandon Sanderson (a steampunk fantasy based in the Mistborn world and my fav of the year)
