A friend just loaned me “Sons of Blackbird Mountain.” I thought I might give it a “try”- it did not come with a warning of clear your day- you will accomplish nothing until you finish this book. My favorite genre is historical fiction, romantic Christian fiction is not high on my list. Yet because the characters were so vividly painted the romance was just natural and I greatly enjoyed this book. Perhaps because I wrote about my grandmother owning an apple ranch in S. California only a generation after this story, this novel had extra appeal. I will look for others by Joanne Bischof.
