Folk Music Spotlight: The Civil Wars “My Father’s Father”

I’m so excited to share one of my favorite songs by the Civil Wars for this Folk Music Spotlight.

They’re music really has a home in my writing mix with their simple but moving sound…which has been described as a “haunting hush.” They really capture the spirit of folk music…it’s earthy, human. And oh, the harmonies. 🙂 But good music is meant to be listened too, so without further adieu, here is “My Father’s Father” by the Civil Wars.

Shame you are missing my 20 month old doing his little dance. I think it might be flat footing but not quite sure what that is.

Amy, what a cute picture! Sounds EXACTLY like my house with our little guy. 20 months… they sound pretty close in age. Our little man was born in Nov., is that close to yours?
