I’ve got a serious case of cover love this summer. So much so that I wanted to round up a handful that have recently caught my eye and that are deserving of a few sighs. Better yet, let’s make up some awards! We can do that, right? 😉
BEST DRESSEDÂ ~ Keep Holding On by Melissa Tagg
Can the designers of this cover please come and give me and my hubby a fashion overhaul. Seriously! I want to give these two a closet raid and impeccable style aside, the adorableness of this is just…wow.
CUTENESS OVERLOAD ~ Homestands by Sally Bradley
I mean, seriously. I swoon over everything about this cover. The colors. The lights. The fonts. The guy and the girl. The guys’s flannel shirt. That sky. Just. Sigh. Did I mention the guy?
BEST TITLE ~Â A Moonbow Night by Laura Frantz
There’s just something about a good title and while all these books have amazing titles, Laura’s A Moonbow Night is one that piques my interest by the words alone. So fresh. So whimsical. She just unveiled her beautiful new cover and those greens and the glorious blues that blend with the heroine’s eyes just bring it all home.
SWEETEST COVER ~ So Rare a Gift by Amber Lynn Perry
There is something about Amber Lynn Perry’s latest that grabs my attention. I think it’s the gentle colors and stance, mixed with the fact that it’s the author herself posing as the heroine that just warms my heart!
MOST INTRIGUING ~ Mark of the King by Jocelyn Green
There’s something about the colors of Jocelyn’s upcoming novel that really catches my eye. The luxurious fabric of the gown mixed with the humble bayou landscape is such an intriguing mix!  I’ve had the privilege of reading an early draft of this manuscript and this cover checks all the right boxes.
CUTEST SMIRK ~ When Tides Turn by Sarah Sundin
This needs to be an award and if it isn’t one yet, Sarah Sundin’s upcoming WWII novel NAILS IT. And gah. The titling and colors of her covers are always so stunning. If I ever switched careers, I want to be a cover designer at Revell. No joke.
MOST MAGICAL ~ The Illusionist’s Apprentice by Kristy Cambron
I have a secret fascination about Harry Houdini as well as a not-so-secret affection for top hats, so add in Kristy Cambron’s literary magic and I am just waiting like a crazy person for her upcoming historical.
THE HEART-TUGGER ~ Can’t Help Falling by Kara Isaac
This one just gets me. From the fonts, to that pose and those expressions. My heart…it just. Good gravy. That’s it. I’m changing my name to Kara Isaac. Now to work on the accent…
Your turn! Which book covers grab your attention and why? Which covers would you add to the list and what award would you give them?
OhGoodness! These all catch my attention for varying reasons! Melissa’s is on cuteness overload and gorgeous; Kristy’s is elegance personified; Kara’s is swoony-worthy; Sarah’s is darling (I love the bit of “sass” it has in comparison to the earlier two novels); and Sally’s is stunning! I agree with all you said, Joanne. Such a fun post. 🙂
Hi Rissi! I always smile when I see you in that cute hat!! And thanks for stopping in for a visit with your sweet words and expert-cover eye. 🙂 I so agree with all of your thoughts!
Ohhhh thank you for including Keep Holding On. And oh my goodness, all the covers you included are soooo gorgeous. Also, I agree about the title of A Moonbow Night…just perfection.
Covers I have loved lately include Jenny B Jones’s latest, Rachel Hauck’s The Wedding Shop…and yours!
Melissa – it is no wonder why you have reason to celebrate with that one and that it’s your favorite! Loved Logan’s crinkly eyes, though, too 😉 I’m going to check out the ones you love as I don’t think I’ve spotted them and thanks for the L&L cover love <3
All these covers are lovely, and there were two or three I hadn’t seen before, so this was so fun! I’m thrilled The Mark of the King made the cut. 🙂 I would add The Lady and the Lionheart to this list! Also Newton and Polly by Jody Hedlund. Very dreamy and ethereal.
Oh, YES! I completely forgot about Jody’s but have been swooning over that one since it was first posted. So pretty! I’m excited as can be for you and this upcoming release. Not only is it a glorious story but to have been along for your writing journey just makes it all the more special!
Wow, thank you, Joanne! I love, love, love seeing Homestands there. I still stop and stare every time I stumble across it working on my computer. I love it!
These are all so very good! I particularly love Melissa’s and Kara’s. Gorgeous!
My pleasure, Sally! I bet you DO stop and stare a bit. It’s totally eye catching and really touches the heart. I love the way a picture truly is worth a thousand words.
Oh, thanks, Joanne! I’m thrilled with the book cover for When Tides Turn – Dan’s no-nonsense look is perfect, but Quintessa’s cute little smile SOLD it for me. Oh, and the uniforms – spot on!
I adore the rest of these covers too! The artwork for book covers has risen to a wonderful level!
You’ve got a great team, Sarah and it sounds like they really captured the spirit of your characters. So fun! All of your covers for this series has truly been spectacular.
What a fun post! Melissa’s covers are always so adorable and cute and this one is no exception. I could use a wardrobe overhaul too! 🙂
I really love the colors of Homestands. Going to add it to my to-read list right now just for that!
Melissa’s really are! And oh, yes, those colors of Homestands…just stunning. Happy reading, Jennifer!
These are beautiful covers! Some are new to me, so that was fun. I love your Lady and the Lionheart too!
Thanks for the warm words on Lionheart, Carrie. 🙂 And it’s always a delight to get to introduce people to new ones. That seems to be how I always find them myself!
Love this, Joanne! And I’m honored you’d include Tempe and her moonbow:) Happy to hear you like the title. It’s SO much better than my working title of MOONBOW INN. How unromancey and practical is that!?
The other covers are all incredibly well done. When I first saw Sally’s I just about gasped! My kind of hero and my kind of cover. And Melissa’s is gorgeous, too! Might just make a contemp reader out of me;) All of them have such unique features. Glad we don’t have to choose just one.
Exciting to see how much Christian fiction and cover art has been refined over time. Very blessed. Thank you!
Laura, what a fun tidbit! I like that title, but agree, that the present one is more romantic. And I do love your heroines names. Temperance. Just smitten over that one!
Yes, Sally’s is so gasp-worthy. And agree about Melissa’s. Those contemporary ones really shine. I really appreciate how designers are taking the designs to new places. Allowing characters to be very real and un-posey, shines so through as being better than ever.
Just got a good look at Kara’s. WOW! No longer new to me, thanks to you:)
Yay!
I’d have to agree with your assessment! These are fabulous! Most were already on my TBR list and now they all are!
So fun to here that, Cyndi! Thanks for stopping in!
All the covers here are AMAZING! Laura Frantz’s would be my favourite though. I would love to see The Lady and the Lionheart on here as well:)
Another cover I really like is A Note yet Unsung by Tamera Alexander, I love the violin she’s holding and all the background lights.
Hi Lientjie!
Aren’t they wonderful! And thank you for your sweet words about The Lady and the Lionheart <3 Oh, what a great one to add. I have see Tamera's latest and it's really, really beautiful!
Love ALL these. Some of my most anticipated reads. <3
Hi Meghan!! You’ve got one awesome TBR stack!
Thanks so much for including Can’t Help Falling with these gorgeous picks. I adore them all too!
Inside scoop, that image wasn’t on the original shortlist of three that I got from my editor. I found it buried in the other options they’d considered. Thank goodness she was prepared to take my list of reasons as to why that one was better than their favourites back to the team (or maybe she sensed my desperation all the way from New Zealand!)
You have fantastic taste, Kara! How neat that they let you go through those extra photos and options. That’s not common. I bet it was a lot of fun and you chose PERFECTLY!
Yes…Both of Kara Isaac’s books are BEAUTIFUL!!!
Hi Halee! I so agree 😀
