Almost 12 years ago, my father was on life support for a month and then his subsequent death, I had to learn how to live with without a parent. My mother is getting up there in age but I hope she will be around for years to come. Even at my age, I am still their “little girl”. Last year I had to put down my dog who was my baby and my best friend, I had to live without “my little girl”. I know grief is a part of life but it is not easy.

Oh I so have wanted to read this book since the first time I saw the cover. I love historical fiction so much. When in TN near the plain folks we learned to go without a lot of things. I currently don’t have my van fixed, its been over a year, so we don’t go out as others do unless my mom comes up and takes us, I miss the freedom but I know God will provide for that one of these days.

Sounds like a fascinating series! What I “gave up” was one life style for another over 30 years ago when we entered the ministry.
No regrets! It is a blessing to serve the Lord – not only for my hubby & me but for our 2 beautiful daughters as well. Now their families also sèrve the Lord and what a blessing that is !!!

Welcome to homeschooling, my friend! Was it your pictures I saw on FB the other day? The adorable ones with the kiddos and chalkboard signs? I hope your homeschooling time goes great! Ours officially began on Monday so we are in the swing of things again. We do summer school–a very light version of it–but this fall I’m going through a charter school which is new for us. New and (a little scary 😉 ) and exciting!

After leaving work and going on disability 10 years ago, my life went through many of the changes Bonnie’s did. I found the hardest change for me was the loss of my friends over time. Your friends change with time and circumstances. Thankfully my church family has not changed!
