The other is a set of salt and pepper shakers that get set out every Thanksgiving.

My family has several items of clothing that belonged to my paternal grandmother, including her 1914 wedding dress. About 30 years ago, the town I was living in celebrated their centennial. I was able to wear some of the clothes in a period fashion show. I had photos taken wearing grandma’s wedding dress. I also have quilts she and my other grandmother made and dishes that belonged to them, as well as to aunts and great-aunts. I’m thankful to be in a family that appreciates these heirlooms.
