I have a few treasures but the two that are nearest and dearest to my heart is a sampler of Noah's Ark my mother did in 1949. The other is a set of salt and pepper shakers that get set out every Thanksgiving.

Wow, Pam, what a wonderful memory! And what wonderful treasures you have in the dresses of your grandmother. I agree - heirlooms are so worth treasuring!

This sounds like a great book. My family has several items of clothing that belonged to my paternal grandmother, including her 1914 wedding dress. About 30 years ago, the town I was living in celebrated their centennial. I was able to wear some of the clothes in a period fashion show. I had photos taken wearing grandma's wedding dress. I also have quilts she and my other grandmother made and dishes that belonged to them, as well as to aunts and great-aunts. I'm thankful to be in a family that appreciates these heirlooms.
