lanehillhouse[at]centurylink[dot]net
Kathleen,
There’s just something about cookies baking, isn’t there? 🙂 It’s one of my favorite things to do with the kids. I so admire you quilters and the beautiful things you create!
How fun! Have I told you how pumped I am for your next book? Can’t wait!
Melissa, you are so awesome. I mailed it last week so it should be there any day!! 😀
LOVE all the homemade/handmade goodies! My favorite thing to make is memories! 🙂 Probably not the kind of answer you were going for here, but since I’m not all that crafty, that’s about all I have. I guess food is an art. I love to make yummy meals that my family enjoys as well.
So excited for your new book, Joanne!
Denise,
I am with you, friend! One of my absolute favorite things to do is to cook and bake. And more recently, make up recipes 🙂 I can just picture your little brood of kids and I bet they adore having their mama in the kitchen, whipping up those fabulous meals!
I’m so glad you’re looking forward to the book!!
Love the homemade goodies! Thank you for a chance at winning!
Hi, Beth! I’m so glad you stopped by! Aren’t homemade things fun? The things I made are just a tiny bit hilter-kilter, though. Which also makes it fun 🙂
I like making dinner, oddly enough. I love coming home after a hectic day and spending a little time in the kitchen cooking up something that will warm tummies and make for a happy family. Thank you so much for the opportunity to win this amazing bundle! 🙂
Amanda,
A few foodies in the group! 🙂 I’m the same way. I positively love getting into the kitchen. We made homemade bagels yesterday and they were so tasty! The kids always enjoy it to, don’t they? 🙂 So glad you stopped in for the giveaway. Blessings to you!
Very fun giveaway! I am a crafter too; I do mostly scrapbooking, cardmaking and other paper crafts, and a bit of sewing here and there. 🙂
Jen, It’s so fun to meet another card maker! That’s what I did mostly when I wasn’t writing full-time. I bet your cards are just so pretty!
I love getting home-made gifts. I would be thrilled to win this. I dabble in many things. If I find something I like I will try to make it. I always make some new Christmas ornament each year and or new gift to give. I am always doing counted cross-stitch. I have made all my family members a stocking. Thank you for sharing.
Oh, Lisa, homemade gifts are so fun. It’s so special knowing a friend made it with love, isn’t it? 🙂 What a great idea to make a Christmas ornament each year! I bet it makes the most special gifts. My mom was a cross-stitcher, I think someday, I would love to learn! So fun hearing about your crafting explorations! 🙂
I signed in using Facebook, but couldn’t leave a comment when it popped up, so I’m not sure if I got entered. I think I did, but wanted to leave a comment to say thanks for the chance to win this great stuff! What I like to make is anything cross stitch! 😉
Pamela,
This is the place to comment, so did it great! You are most definitely entered and I’m so glad you are here. I love hearing all this cross-stitch. My mom was a cross stitcher and I have so many fond memories of her toting her craft bag to every doctor’s appointment and sitting there working on her lovely creations. 🙂
I love to make jewelry. And as soon as I finish a piece, I find someone to give it to in order to spread a little happiness!
Oh, Jerrilynn, that is just wonderful! What a special way to use your talents. I’ve never made jewelry, but it looks like such a wonderful hobby. I bet the items you make are just beautiful!
my favorit thing to make is i love to quilt. and i would love to to be a winner and recieve something you made
Shirly,
I’m so thankful you are here. I think quilting is such a special talent. Every time I go to the show up here and see the amazing creations that you ladies make, I am just in awe!
I love to paint! Thanks for the giveaway!
Gale, I’m a painter too! So nice to see you here and I’m glad you entered!
I enjoy making all kinds of things. I’ve been trying to relearn to crochet. I’ve also got my sewing machine out again.
Jennifer, I’ve dabbled in crocheting (the rug above, I crocheted) But I can’t go far beyond making things like scarves, or pot holders, which I guess I think the rug just might be a giant version of, haha! Good for you for pulling out that sewing machine. Enjoy your time!
My favorite thing to make is a sausage and cheese breakfast casserole. I’d love to win!
Susan, I have a feeling your loved ones are quite a fan of that! 😉 Yummy!!
Have I ever told you how impressed I am that you are so crafty? I don’t think I can even color in the lines, much less make something from scratch like you. You make all 1984-ers proud. 😉
Lindsay,
Have I ever told you how impressed I am that you are an editor!? Here, I’ll make you crafts and you can teach me how to write-proper! 😉 LOL
LOL, deal, although I’m pretty sure you don’t need my help. But I need yours, so I’ll selfishly take you up on that! 🙂
I wish that I was more crafty but I usually make cookies, breakfast breads and buckeyes.
Oh, Rosemary, breakfast breads!? There is something so heavenly about having homemade bread in the morning. That is wonderful!
How wonderful to host a giveaway! I would LOVE to know how to crochet the rug. What was used?
Welcome, Sarah! I’m so glad you like the rug! It’s pretty simple, actually. Though I say that now that I’m done 😉 I found a pattern online “crochet rag rug” then I picked out all the fabric in the clearance section. This one is sort of a country color combination, then there is a way to knot the strips of fabric together, then simply crochet! Email me: jnbischof (at) hotmail.com and I can hunt for that pattern and send it to you 🙂
After 20 yrs of marriage and 18 yrs of Homeschooling and working outside of the home I am able to focus on being a homemaker and helpmate to my wonderful husband
Joyce, I’m just positively smiling! How wonderful to have that focus of homemaking and being a helpmate. Your husband is blessed to have a Titus 2 woman!! So nice meeting you!
These are truley amazing items. Good luck to everyone. And I wish I could be the crafty but I can only do baking. On the other hand my sister is more crafty and a baker from scratch than me. (lol)
Keren, Thank you so much! I think baking is a wonderful thing to do. (and I can’t tell you how many times I use the packages…semi homemade, right?)
I do a lot of different crafts, sewing, painting, etc. just love to craft!!!
Pauline, It is such a wonderful way to spend the time! I bet you have made some fantastic things!
I adore that rug. If I don’t win, I have to find out where you got it so I can snag one. 🙂
It’s hard to pick one thing I love to make the most. But I’m going to go with our vegetable garden (okay, God actually made that, but you know what I mean). I enjoy canning, but the being able to teach the kids about planting, harvesting, and taking care of things, plus eating the yummy, fresh, no GMO food for basically free is awesome.
Thanks for the lovely giveaway.
Melissa,
I am so glad that you like the rug! I made it! *grin* though don’t look too closely, LOL. Hence the word “rustic” 😉 It’s super simple and I can show you how.
A vegetable garden is a wonderful choice. You are the hands that are putting into motion all the wonderful goodness that God laid out for us. I am so eager to start my seeds this spring. I hear you have a few heirloom varieties. Do you save your own seeds?
Favorite thing to make, I am learning to knit, sew , crochet , and quilt , I Enjoy making Kids crafts , But I LOVE to cook anything and everything !
Joyce, you are a one-woman wonder! That is so awesome. And kid’s crafts are so very special. There is something so wonderful about getting the kids in there and crafting, or simply making something for the little people in your life. 🙂
I try different crafts and projects. I sometimes paint pictures on walls and make figures out of FIMO clay. Time is the biggest problem. 🙂 I have one unfinished painting staring at me right now! But writing is what I love to do.
Karen,
That sounds so neat. I love the idea of having pictures on the walls. I’ve always wanted to do that in my kitchen or our kids’ room. Like you said, it’s finding the time. 🙂 Love hearing that you write! It’s my favorite thing to do, too 😉
Now that I am retired I have more time for reading and crafts
Lynda,
what a blessing! Reading and crafts sound like the most lovely way to spend your days!!
What a beautiful prize. Would love to win.
Thank you so much, Bonnie. I’m so thankful to my friends who provided some of the goodies. I’m so glad you are entered!
I can make tea. Oh, and I can read. That’s it for ‘crafty’. But, I can refinish an antique, so I guess maybe that’s crafts on steroids?
Jennifer, anyone who can make a proper cup of tea is alright by me 😉 And I hear you make hockey players too? *wink* LOL: crafts on steroids. You amaze me!!
Well, I’m not the most crafty person, but I do enjoy decorating candles and making magnets out of frozen-juice-can-lids. 🙂
If you can playing the piano, flute and oboe as crafty, I do that alot. 😀
Mallen,
Your magnets sound so cute! What a clever idea. I am amazed by your musical abilities. How wonderful! It’s so nice to see you here. Have a great day!
I love to quilt or crochet blankets for people. When I quilt a blanket/quilt I always personalize one square with the person’s name and a motif of something they like to do.
Kathy,
What wonderful keepsakes you are making. That is a lovely idea and I bet the people in your life are so blessed to get those blankets made with love!
I would love to win.
inspiremichelle@yahoo.com
Michelle, wonderful! You are entered!
Anything with my little girls. My 5yr old likes to cook and my 2yr old likes to sew. 🙂

~Kelly
http://www.leafynotbeefy.com
Welcome, Kelly! It’s so wonderful to meet you! Those are great things to do! Ok, and I hopped over to your website and love all the fashions. So pretty (and modest) woohoo!
I don’t think of myself as a crafter, but I do see. I love to cook and bake. I like to try new breads. Last week we made Wild Rice Breadsticks! They were yummy!
Joyce,
Baking is probably one of my absolute favorite things to do, too 🙂 I have never heard of Wild Rice Bread ticks but they sound so delicious!!
Love the rag rug–I remember starting to make one when I was a kid. It was more of a rag pot holder. Takes a LOT of rags!
Sarah, It does take a lot of rags, LOL. I sort of cheated and bought mine, only because I wanted to get certain colors. I think we made about the same things when we were young 🙂 I never got far beyond the pot-holder stage.
I love to make friends! I think most now days is on my computer. Don’t get to go out a lot. My mom now has to live with me and baby sit grandbabies. So I enjoy my time on here and reading your books. Thanks for the chance I would love to win!
Blessings
joeym11@frontier.com
Diana, how nice to have your mom on hands to help with the kids. That is such a blessing! And I’m so glad to hear that you enjoyed Be Still My Soul! I am SO excited for you to get Though My Heart is Torn this spring! I am so glad you stopped by for the giveaway.
Lovely giveaway! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and for leaving such a kind comment : )
I am happy to be visiting your beautiful blog!
Hugs,
Terri
Terri,
It was my absolute pleasure! Your blog was so inviting. I am so glad that you came by and visited me. Welcome! It has been so nice to be able to meet you 🙂
I am not sure I am entered in the contest 🙁 I logged in & there was an area to answer “What is your favorite thing to make?” Does answering that question here automatically place my name in the giveaway??
I love to crochet!! I mostly crochet hats for cancer, Salvation Army, babies etc. Any place I can find that can use them. I love to crochet baby blankets as well. This year, I want to take a card making class. I think that would be fun 🙂
Lisa, you are most definitely entered! I know it’s a bit confusing, I went to the form and edited it for people to know they can comment below. So you did it perfect! 🙂
What a wonderful way to spend your time. I bet it just blesses and blesses the people you so lovingly make them for. What treasures! I am so glad you are here 🙂
I could use the bookmark because I am always looking for something to mark my place. The lavendar sea salt scrub would be nice too!
Michelle, me too! I’m always looking for something and can’t tell you how often it’s a receipt or a scrap of some sort. The lavender sea salt is really nice. My friend made it and it has a wonderful smell! Thanks so much for stopping by!
Thank you for the chance to win. I love homemade things. The thing I make the most is homemade cards.
griperang at embarqmail dot com
Angela, I think making cards is so special. I painted the little one above and miss being able to do it as often as I used to. I bet yours are just lovely! 🙂 Welcome!!
The form is a little hard to figure out, I hope I am entering right. My favorite thing to make is new foods!
Beth-Anne, it is a bit confusing. I agree. This is my first time using it and I’m giving it a “test-drive” 😉 Rest assured, that you are entered! I am so glad you are here. I bet your family just loves it when you hop into the kitchen! 🙂
I love making Chicken and Rice and my son’s favorite dip for him
Donna, I bet you have one happy son! I wish I had a good chicken and rice recipe. I confess, I never just up and make it and it’s such a comfort food, isn’t it? :]
What a truly lovely gift.
Thank you, Janet. 🙂 I’m so glad you are here!
My favorite thing to make is a scrapbook page! And some homemade chocolate chip cookies to munch on while I am scrapbooking:)
Brittany, That’s it, I’m coming over with my scrapbooking supplies! 🙂 Sounds wonderful!
What a lovely way to start out the new year! My favourite thing to make is fruit bread… I love the aroma of bread baking, and I have an elderly aunt who looks for me to bring her a loaf whenever I visit. I also like making greeting cards so I can have unique ones to send to special people who might need a bit of cheering up.
Thank you, Carol 🙂 Mmm…I can just smell it! There is something so incredibly comforting about homemade bread. Yes, homemade greeting cards really are so cheery! I bet the people in your life are so blessed to receive them.
Don’t know if you’re talking about cooking, but my answer to your “what do I like to make?” is…..a huge steaming pot of vegetable soup! I have found that crafts in general make me feel stressed when I don’t get the results I envision…but I seem to relax when I cook! Not great when you want to lose weight, but I’m trying to cook healthfully!
Cooking most DEFINITELY qualifies, Connie 😉 I love to cook too. Oh, yum! Homemade vegetable soup. That sounds heavenly especially on a cold winter day. That makes a lot of sense about crafts often not turning out how we envisioned. I think that’s the great thing about cooking is we can always adjust things or at the very worst, I’ve been known to feed my catastrophes to our chickens. 🙂
I love making twirly skirts for my girl and various bags for me! Now we are redecorating, I’ll be making stuff for our home! These are all lovely!
Ooh, Twirly skirts! Those must be so cute. I would love to see your bags. I wish I was a better sewer but I’m not very good. I want my daughter to learn more than I ever did. I bet your home is just lovely!
I would love to be the winner of such special gifts. Thank you so much for the drawing.
Sue, it is my pleasure. Thank you so much for stopping in and being here today!
i like to bake the most
Me too 🙂 I need to eat it less though, hehe.
Love all these lovely gifts. Hope to be a winner. Homemade things are best.
Hi, Carolyn! Aren’t homemade things just the best? I love the thought that goes into the things people make. So glad you are here!
I like to make glass plate flowers yard art
Oh, how neat, Christy!
I love to make quilts, pillows, table runners and place mats…and I so enjoy reading! THAANK YOU FOR SHARING WIHT US!!!
Kellie
Hi Kellie!! It is my pleasure! I admire all your sewing talents. How I wish I could sew like that! Just thrilled you are here.
I’m not a crafty person, but I do like to bake cookies!
Nancy, that is crafty in my book! And there’s just nothing quite like homemade cookies! 🙂
My favorite thing to make is jewelry 🙂
Beth
Beth,
So wonderful. I am loving hearing how everyone has a different favorite hobby. A few jewelry makers here and I love the pieces like that. There’s just something special bout them.
I would love to win these gifts. Your book looks very interesting. I can’t wait to get it and read it.
Thanks so much, Susan! I hope you enjoy Be Still My Soul!
Scrapbooking, making cards and even the envelopes!
Shirley,
Homemade envelopes sound so pretty. I love paper crafts. They are so simple and just extra special to send notes to friends. 🙂
I’m not a crafty person but I love to bake cookies. Double Chocolate chip are my fav.
Oh, Sarah, you have just given me a craving for Double Chocolate chip cookies. YUM!!
I enjoy ‘thinking’ about making things… and once & awhile I get it together to actually finish a project 🙂
LOL, Abbie. I know just what you mean. I see so many things I would love to make but it’s harder to find the time! Have a great day. 🙂
Such beautiful, unique handmade gifts! Thanks so much for this giveaway!
Oops! I was too hasty and commented before the question appeared. Needlecrafts are my favorite things to make. I used to cross-stitch a lot and have always been a big fan of crocheting, but I’m slowly trying to add knitting to my repertoire as well. I love to give homemade Christmas gifts!
Thank you, Joelle. It sounds like you and I enjoy some of the same crafts. I admire your desire to give knitting a try. I would love to learn but just need to find someone who could teach me. I’m not very good at following patterns 😛 How wonderful to give homemade Christmas gifts!
I use to make crafty things all the time but not so much anymore. Would love to win this contest. Thanks for the opportunity!!!
It is my pleasure, Jane! It’s so nice to meet you and I’m glad you are entered. Blessings to you!
Such wonderful gifts – I love to knit. I always have at least 2 items going and sometimes even 3…lol That way, I can always look at something different 🙂 I am learning to quilt – I have been sewing since I was 12, but quilting is new to me. Looking forward to becoming creative in that venue as well.
Betti, Wow you are a sewing, knitting wonder! I love it! I wish I knew how to knit but I’ve never learned. I know how to crochet, but would really, really like to give knitting a go. Maybe when my kids get a little older and I have more time. Warmest wishes!
Oh how fun! I love anything crafty! Im pulling out my sewing machine today actually, I’d like to make a quilt.
What a great way to spend a Tuesday, Michelle! Enjoy your crafting time! I’m so glad you entered the giveaway. 🙂
There is no gift given as wonderful as a gift made and given with your heart.
So well said, Glenda. So well said!
I love to bake, cookies mostly! I’m not to crafty otherwise. I do cross stitch every once in a while…
Patty
Patty, I am loving all these cookie baking. I’m rather fond of cookies as are my three kids. I think today might just end up being a cookie baking day. 🙂
I love home made gifts! My mother was very creative and has passed the love of hand crafting to me. Great giveaway!! Thank you!!
Betty,
How neat to hear how your mother passed on that tradition and love to you! I’m so glad you like the giveaway. 🙂 Thrilled you are entered!
All the homemade items look wonderful! Thanks for the chance to win. I used to do crafts when our kids were small but don’t do much anymore but I do like to cook — I take a Chicken Casserole to all family functions and on holidays I make a Mississippi Mud Cake that my family loves!
Thank you so much, Tammy. It is my pleasure! I had a lot of fun putting the things together. Yummy! That casserole sound delicious and I’m just about needing a chocolate fix reading about that mud cake.
I’m not very crafty…wish I were. I do enjoy baking cakes and pies though. Love these homemade gifts. Thanks for chance to win.
Susan,
There is just something so special about baking in the kitchen 🙂 So cozy! I’m glad you are here!
Hello, I am into making quilt tops and having them quilted for my twelve granchildren as they graduate, i have two done for the two graduating this spring…(these are my very first ever)
I will also make each one of my three children one.
Joyce,
What a wonderful keepsake for your children and for your grandchildren! I bet it just fills your heart to overflowing as you work on them with love. 🙂 Such a treasure!
I like making making things for friends: unique scarves, vintage purses, stuff animals, baby blankets
How wonderful, Sylvia! I love the idea of those vintage purses. I bet they are just charming!
Oh my. I’m a maker of lots of things. Quilting, locker hooking, cooking, needlepoint, drawing, painting, etc. At this moment, my favorite is probably locker hooking.
Amy, I have never heard of “locker hooking” How does it work? I am so intrigued I think I will go look it up. 🙂 I love hearing about all your crafty hobbies!!
There is nothing better than homemade! Still anticipating the sequel to Be Still My Soul, Joanne. Every time I hear the song “10,000 Reasons (Bless The Lord)” on K-love (which is a lot) I think of Lonnie and Gideon. 🙂
Hi Debbie! I am so, so glad that you are anticipating Though My Heart is Torn! I can’t wait for Lonnie and Gideon’s story to land in your hands! 🙂 I LOVE that song. I’m just smiling that it reminds you of their story. I’m going to pull it up right now and listen to it with you. 🙂
Well, I like to make anything edible 🙂 I also enjoy making jewelry and hairbows!
Yes, edible is always good 🙂 So glad you’re here Amy. Those hair bows are so cute! They are so creative.
Red Velvet cake with cream cheese frosting.
YUM! Ok, now I have a craving for even more than chocolate chip cookies 😉
I love to cook and try new ideas and different ways to cook things
Kay, me too! Cooking is so fun, isn’t it? 🙂 I’m glad you stopped by today!
I love homemade things! I finished Be Still My Soul, literally just an hour ago or so. It was a very sweet story. I look forward to the next book!
Hi Emma! How exciting to know that you just finished the book. I’m so glad you liked it. I’m doubly glad that you are here!! 🙂
I have always loved braided rag rugs and homemade anything!
Stephanie, Thrilled to meet another rug braider 🙂 This was my second one. I’ve braided one and crochet the other and it’s such a fun, relaxing hobby. 🙂 Welcome!
cross stitch samplers…
i love home made items…thanks for sharing, joanne 🙂
Karen, it’s always such a pleasure to get to chat with you. I bet your cross stitch samplers are just lovely! I’m so glad you entered the giveaway 🙂
When I feel like being crafty I really love to make jewelry. 🙂
We have a few jewelry makers here! It’s so nice to have you, Samantha and to hear about this craft that you love. 🙂 Blessings!
I love to cross stitch.
So fun, Shelly! 🙂
I love to do crochet, making children’s toys to see the little ones smile!
Oh, Amy, I bet those little toys are just adorable. And to think of their smiles as your reward. I’m smiling just thinking about it! 🙂
Love to bake and try out new recipes.
Me too, Johnda! So great to meet you. 🙂
What a cool give away! I just sat down to a nice cup of hot cocoa & a white chocolate cranberry cookie when I saw this! Nice way to start the afternoon!
Casey, FABULOUS way to start the afternoon. 🙂 I am so glad that you are here! Now, to get some of these white chocolate cranberry cookies… 😉
Comment
🙂
love makeing sour dough bread for friends and family
Cheryl, me too! Did you buy your starter or make your own? Mine died last year and I need to start again.
The rug reminds me of ones my mother used to make. The soap–hers was lye soap but homemade anyway. I miss her so much, gone these 26 years.
Blessings! Darlene
OH, Darlene my heart just goes out to you, missing your mom. Hugs. This soap is Lye soap too. It works very well! Have a great day!
Homemade makes me feel cozy, loved & good! Just like books do…..
Well said, Natalie. So very well said. Me too!
My favourite thing to do? Och. difficult to say as there are so many things I love in life…Dream? READ!!! Cooking? Beachcombing? Treasure hunting comes right after of course…
Thank you for the sweet opportunity and Blessings,
Noelle, Each time I hear you “speak” I just hear Scotland. Is that where you’re from? Beachcombing, that is so much fun. All those beautiful rocks and shells… 🙂
What is my favorite thing to make? Hmm….Well, I like to make cards (though I haven’t made any in a while) and I like to knit stuff… (I haven’t knitted in a while either :P)
LOL, Jenna. Sometimes it’s like that, isn’t it?! I feel the same way about my favorite hobbies…haven’t done them in a while. The desire is often there though! 🙂
I love to make homemade bookmarks, and “made from scratch” Muffins.. =)
Melissa, yumm-y!! I rarely have made-from-scratch muffins and probably have only made them once. They sound delish. If you haven’t read it yet, I bet you would enjoy “Fresh Start Summer” by Beverly Nault. The leading character is a muffin baker 🙂
My favorite things to do are sewing, especially quilting I also love to scrapbook and read. I enjoy baking cakes, candies and cookies as well as pies during the holidays. I love all “home” made things because they are close to my heart.
Joyce, I can just envison (and smell!) all that yummy fall baking. How wonderful for your family, friends and neighbors. So well said, home made things are close to my hear too. 🙂 Its nice to meet another kindred spirit!
I love to cross-stitch!
Hi, Ann! So fun!
I am really into quilting, and while machine quilting is great there is something amazing about hand quilting that makes me feel like a true pioneer!
I also love to can, make my own recipes and just do whatever I can to take me to a simpler time and place!
What a beautiful giveaway Joanne, you are a blessing to the Christian fiction community!
Lindsay,
I so admire your ability to sit and hand quilt. Girl, you ARE a true pioneer! As a historical writer, you are after my own heart. 🙂 I am just learning how to can and I did it once and loved it. Homemade Apple butter. Problem was that we ate the jars up so quick, they didn’t last as we had hoped 🙂
Thanks so much for being here!
That’s wonderful! I start canning as soon as the first veg/fruit ripens and don’t stop until fall apples. My kitchen is well-stocked and in January I am eating green beans and potatoes fresh from the garden, just out of a jar!
I am aiming to get better at quilting this year, it is one of my 2013 goals and it certainly is an art.
I’m not crafty at all and I can’t cook that well, so that’s a tough question! 😉 I do make a pretty good blueberry-orange muffin, so I’ll just go with that.
Tammy,
I bet your friends and family can’t resist a good blueberry-orange muffin 😉 Yum!! Have a great evening!
I don’t have 1 crafty bone in my body! So, I’m afraid my favorite thing to make is a mess!!! 😉 Thanks for sharing with us!
Yes, Robin, I LOVE your honesty and humor! Way to go! Even that is wonderful because it’s those messes that just sometimes make life fun! =]
I love to bake. That’s probably my favorite, but reading and quilting are right up there.
Amy, is there anything better than sitting down with a good book AND a yummy baked good? I’m a sucker for scones, myself 🙂 Thrilled you stopped in for the giveaway!
I’m not real big into crafting but do enough to appreciate the time and effort that goes into handmade gifts. This gift bundle you have has some very nice items in it. Thank you for being so generous. I’d be very happy to win!
Well said, Pam. I feel that way about the things I don’t know how to make. I so admire those who can! I’m so glad that you’re here today and I hope you have a wonderful evening!
I love to make homemade cards. Looking forward to reading the new book.
Hmm for some reason that didn’t post my name.
Ladette, I am so glad to know your name. 🙂 That is strange. Card making is so fun isn’t it? I am so happy that you are looking forward to the new book. I can’t wait for you to get it!
Hey there! Although I’ve always been an avid baker and cook, I’ve recently been smitten by the “nesting bug” and have been making my own cleaning supplies. Anything I can make and give away is always a favorite as well. Bath salts, sugar scrubs, and bath fizzies have been recent favorites. =)
April, I love hearing about all these bath salts and fizzies. How do you make them? It’s so neat that you make all these things homemade to give away. My friend made the scrub pictured above and she said it was quite simple. I used some (not the same jar, LOL) and just loved it. It’s so nice to meet you, Dawn!!
My favorite things to make would be: friends 🙂
Bravo, Kathleen. That’s the spirit. 🙂
There are so many,I love to crochet afghans, bake cakes and pies, cross stitch, make crafts.I have always wanted to learn how to quilt and how to make rag rugs. Thanks,I would love to win this contest.
Jackie, it is so nice to meet you. I love learning more about you and what you enjoy. So many wonderful ways to keep busy! The rag rugs, I must say, are so simple. I was surprised! They’re fun to make too, and if your like me who have a short attention span, the smaller ones are the best way to go. 😉
I must say that making greeting cards is one of my biggest hobbies, right after reading. 🙂
Alisa, how wonderful. We have that in common! Card making is one of my favorites and reading just above that 🙂
In the Winter, I make soup and bread almost every weekend. This past weekend, I made Bean Soup with Ham, and “Salty Bread”–which is sort of like salt-risen bread. I loved “Be Still My Soul”, and I am looking forward to future books!
Virginia ~
I am a huge soup fan. I could have it all the time and am always looking for new recipes. Your Bean and ham soup sounds delicious! Oh, and to pair it with a savory bread…yum! Thank you, Marie. I am so glad you think so! “Pleasant vibes?” How wonderful! 🙂 I love beaded bookmarks. A friend made the ones above and she does such a lovely job. I’ve made them before with old buttons, or old pieces of jewelry for a vintage feel, but it’s been a while. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!

Elaine W. Miller
Very, very true Elaine. Books ARE a craft in themselves! I think of it the exact same way, stringing words together, using them as a medium to create. 🙂 I am so glad you like the items in the giveaway! You are entered!

One year I decorated my Christmas tree with handmade ornaments. There wasn’t a single ore-fab thing on my tree other than the lights. My favorite ones to make were the paperbag ornaments, I made angels, snow men and Santa’s. That is also the only year I don’t have a picture of my tree!
I love the handmade ornament idea, Angela! Those designs sound so cute! This year I had wanted to decorate the house with all natural things… oranges, berries and pinecones. But…I ran out of time. 🙁 Hopefully next year! 🙂
