No one would ever imagine a fresh-faced young woman could be robbing stage bandits of their ill-gotten fortunes. But Jennie Jones is desperate to save her family’s ranch from foreclosure. And the risks seem worth it, until her upright new ranch hand offers a glimpse of how much is really at stake.
Former bounty hunter Caleb Johnson is ready for a new, clean start. With a woman like Jennie, he could build a future there in Utah territory. But only if his gentle faith can guide her in a choice between the land she’s fought so hard to save and a future by his side.

I’m in the midst of Jennie and Caleb’s story and I just have to tell you that Stacy is a fantastic writer! The story is a sweet romance, laced with humor and faith as well as those deep matters of the heart that keep you turning the pages! She trickles in little details the keep you wondering what’s happened in the past to shape the characters into who they are. I absolutely love Stacy’s voice and her characters endear themselves to you right from the start. I’m so glad that she’s giving away a copy of her lovely book today.
About Stacy:
Stacy Henrie has always had an avid appetite for history, fiction and chocolate. While she had a goal to write and publish a book one day, she turned her attentions first to graduating with a bachelor’s degree in public relations. Not long after, she switched from writing press releases and newsletters to writing inspirational historical romances as a stay-at-home mom. Stacy loves reading, interior decorating, romantic movies, and most of all, laughing with her husband and three kids. She appreciates the chance to live out history through her characters, while enjoying all the modern conveniences of life in the 21st century. Giveaway:
To be entered to win a copy of Lady Outlaw, simply leave a comment below and I will draw a random winner on Monday September, 3rd. You can leave any comment, but for fun, how about answering a question? Stacy’s book takes place in Utah. Have you ever visited any part of the “wild” west and if so, where?
Oh and I totally forgot to add the facebook question of the week! Probably because this is the first week I’m doing it. 🙂 The question this week is very cobbler-y. As in blueberry, peach…  http://www.facebook.com/joannebischof
I’ve never been out west, but I would love to visit! I’ll have to live vicariously through Stacy’s book! 🙂 Congrats, Stacy! I’m so happy for you!
Seriously, Jess? Seriously? This must change. Come to AZ to visit me!!!
Exactly, Jessica! I’m trying to remember where you are from. Isn’t it fun how we get to live vicariously through books? I’m laughing at Lindsay’s comment, too!
Jess, we so need to get you out here! 🙂 So many cool things to see. Though you’re from the south – right? – and I’ve never really been anywhere down there. Except for the Atlanta airport and a few days near Disney World. We need a trip swap!
Congrats, Stacy!
And yeah, I live in Phoenix, AZ, so I’m thinking I’ve been to a small part of the Wild West. 😉
I’m a CA girl so we could practically throw something at one another (this is assuming we’re the throwing type.) LOL. We drive through AZ each time we go to Utah which is sometimes several times a year. I remember you talking about your skin-type awhile back. Do you ever have trouble with the Arizona sun?
No…because I just stay inside all the time!! Hehe. And yes, we really need to meet up one of these days. Halfway for each of us would be like Blythe…oh wait, that’s like the armpit of Cali. Hehe.
LOL…a get together in Blythe. Now that would make for a memorable occasion, LOL. Well I’m determined to go to a conference next year and since you’re planning on hitting a few, our chances of getting to visit are looking good!
Joanne – What brings you to Utah a couple times of year?
Cracker Barrel! 🙂 Oh wait…
My husband’s a hunter and that is where they go. We went up a few summers ago “scouting” and it was beautiful. We’ve been to Salt Lake before and also go in the winter, most years to Brian Head for skiing and snowboarding. It’s so beautiful up there!
Joanne – No way! If you’ve driven up to Salt Lake, then you’ve driven right past where I live. 🙂 Let me know when when you’re coming this way again – it would be fun to do lunch!
I have a sister in Tucson. One of these days we want to go visit down there and go to Tombstone – that’s pretty wild west! 🙂
Sounds like a great book, Stacey:) I love being introduced to new writers, thanks Joanne.
I’ve never been out west. It seems beautiful! We have a dream to take route 66 all the way from Michigan to CA someday. I think we need to wait for the kids to get a little older though:)
Hi Lisa! Isn’t it fun to discover new authors? I’m so glad you stopped in today. Sounds like a super fun road trip…and a wise mom (who values her sanity) to wait until the kids get a bit older. 🙂
We’ve driven from CA as far as IL and it’s quite a journey. My mom was raised in Michigan and sometimes she still does the Michigander talk 😉 I bet it is so beautiful up there!
Lisa – Driving route 66 is one of my dreams too! 🙂 And yes, I want to wait until my kids are older too before we attempt it.
I have never been out west. Farthest I’ve been is good ol wild Tennessee. 🙂
Amy, you’ve got me laughing! Tennessee is probably MORE wild than the West come to think of it. If I’m not mistaking you folks have a lot more bugs and animals than we do. So glad you dropped in! I’ve got your name down for the giveaway. 🙂
Amy – I’ve heard Tennessee is gorgeous, but I’ve never been there.
Well I grew up in the mounatins of Colorado and have been all over the west, just not much of the east. Arizona is a bit too hot for me but I like to visit!
Hi Michelle! I clicked on your name and it took me to your blog, and I thought, “Oh it’s that Michelle! The one who did the beautiful review.” I absolutely love the picture you have there on your sidebar. Is that your wedding day?
Colorado is such a beautiful place. It must have been great growing up there. We’ve been there many a summer and it’s one of my favorite places. 🙂
Hey Joanne,
Your reply made me smile! Yes, that was my wedding day a little over a year ago! It was a wonderful day and that is one of my favorite pictures. : )
We haven’t explored as much of Colorado as we could, with it being right next door. 🙂 And I’m with you – Arizona is just a little too hot.
Yes, but it’s awesome in the winter!! 60s and 70s from October/November to February/March…when the rest of the states are covered in snow. 😉
Hi Stacy,
Yeah I’m sure Arizona cools off in the winter but I’m just not someone who likes the heat. : )
Sounds like a fun book! 🙂
I’m a huge fan of historical romances, particularly with American West settings. 🙂 (It’s what I love to read AND write!) I live in California, I went to university in Oregon, and I absolutely LOVE visiting the former mining town Virginia City in Nevada (yes, of Bonanza fame – awesome show!).

Amber, I never realized we were so close! I’m in southern California! I also didn’t know that you were a writer. That’s awesome! With your love of books and story, I can only imagine that you have some great ones to share with the world. 🙂
Amber – Virginia City sounds like a fun place to visit! Growing up, my dad and sisters and I would go explore abandoned mining towns. It was such a blast.
I have lived in California, and visit mexico, went thru nevada, arizona, new mexico. Sounds like a great book. thanks for doing this.
Pat – New Mexico is one western state I haven’t been to. 🙂
Hi, Pat! So nice to meet you. Just like Stacy, I’ve yet to visit New Mexico, but I’ve driven through all the others. Probably my favorite thing about living here is the amazing Mexican food. It’s everywhere and I especially love those homemade tortillas 🙂
I’m so glad you dropped in today and I’ve got you written down for the giveaway!
Thanks for hosting me and my book on your blog today, Joanne! And I love this question. Being a California native myself, then relocating to Utah, I’ve been to every state in the west but New Mexico. One “wild west” place I haven’t yet visited in my home state is Robbers’ Roost in southeastern Utah. That’s where the outlaw Butch Cassidy and his gang would hide out from the law back in the day. I really want to see that place! 🙂
Oooh, sounds like it would be such a neat visit to make, especially for research. What I love so much about Utah, aside from the beautiful mountains and red dirt, are the people. People there are so friendly, and kind and it’s always a pleasure to visit your state!
i enjoyed reading all of today’s comments 🙂
i’ve traveled to las vegas a few times….is that considered ‘wild west’….maybe it is for some 🙂
thanks for the chance to read your fabulous novel, stacy
Karen – LOL! I think Las Vegas has some remnants of “wild west” days. 🙂
Hi Karen! The comments are a lot of fun–so neat that you’ve read them. 🙂 Las Vegas would definitely be considered the wild west in my book! We drive through it at least once a year, always on the freeway, but I can see the strip and the last time was at night–which was a pretty amazing sight. So glad you stopped in!
Thank you so much for this opportunity!!
Well, I was born and raised in the Canadian west, if that’s “wild” enough. LOL! Otherwise, I’ve been blessed to see much of this gorgeous country of America. I’ve been to Washington (since I lived just 45-minutes from the border, Washington was like a second home), Oregon, California, New Mexico, Nevada, Colorado, Idaho, Wyoming, Kansas, Oklahoma…and more. 🙂
Mikal – I have family in Washington, so I’ve been there a few times. It is gorgeous! I love driving down the highway with the trees on either side.
So glad you visited Mikal! Oh, wow, I can just imagine what it must have been like growing up in the Canadian west. That’s much more wild than our west! And wow…you’ve visited a lot of America in the meantime! I’m yet to get to Canada but it’s on my wishlist. I’m hoping someday our family can take a road trip up north and see more of that country. 🙂
What an exciting cover and the premise of the novel is great. Haven’t read Stacy’s work before but would love to win this and do so. We have visited the West many times–in fact, as a small child I lived in Arizona for a time. We love the National Parks: Grand Canyon, Arches,
Bryce, Zion and on and on.
Thanks for the opportunity to enter the drawing. Blessings.
Wecome, Darlene! Stacy’s novel really does have neat premise. You are officially entered for the giveaway!
I think Bryce canyon is one of my favorites. It’s so beautiful there–a unique bit of country, that Utah of Stacy’s 😉
Darlene – I’ve lived in Utah for years and years, and I just visited Arches this summer. It was awesome!
I so enjoyed Stacy’s book!! (And you can exclude me from the drawing since I’ve got her book already.) Loved the setting and the characters!!
I’ve been out to Utah once…and then I’ve been in Seattle, but that’s not so much wild west as just west, I think. But I enjoyed both places!
Melissa! Yes, Stacy is a great writer. I kept finding myself smiling as I read.
Officially consider yourself excluded (ok, I just always wanted to say that) just kidding 😉
I’ve never been to Seattle but I really would love to see it!
Thanks, Melissa! It was super fun to set the book in my home state. The towns in Lady Outlaw are actually located not too far from me, so my husband and I went down and took some pictures that we’re going to put on my website.
Congrats Stacy! I’ve been out west but not to Utah…I guess your book will take me there.
Fun stuff, ladies!
Lorre–great point. It sure will! So glad you popped in today. Take care!
Loree – I would love to have seen the west in its hey-day. Though I’m sure it wouldn’t be as romantic as we think of it today. 🙂
I’ve been to all of the states in the West except Wyoming. I was a small child and remember very little. But recently when I visited Arizona I was amazed at how much space and openness there was. We are a bit cramped on the East Coast. =) Thanks for having the give-away. Would love to read this book.
Tima, that’s incredible…all the states you’ve seen. The west is pretty spacious, though I’ve seen so little of the East coast that I would love to visit!
Tima – Yes, lots of open space out here. Especially in Wyoming. 🙂
On my honeymoon..a long time ago, – we wanted to see “The old West” in Dodge City, KS.
We lived in central KS at the time, so it was about a 3 hour drive
( near the Colorado border )
Dodge City, KS has a interesting western theme, and we enjoyed it.
I also enjoy watching “Dr Quinn” on DVD, love that series!
That sounds like a fun honeymoon road trip! I’ve only ever driven through Kansas, but would love to see more of the state.
We used to absolutely love watching Dr. Quinn. Haven’t seen it in the longest time! That show brings back such fond memories. Thanks for joining in, Melissa! I’ve got you down for the giveaway!
Sounds like a wonderful book! Even though I’m a southern girl now ( 🙂 ) I’m actually from the west! I grew up in Utah and then lived in Arizona while going to college.
Thanks to everyone for dropping in and leaving a comment last week! It was such a pleasure having Stacy here and I’m excited to announce that the winner of Lady Outlaw is Karen K! I will email you for your mailing address. 🙂
