A kind friend recently reminded me of some wisely spoken words, “all you need is twenty seconds of insane courage.”
Oh how I needed to hear that because over the last few weeks, I had to harness those twenty seconds daily as I worked on a new project–a celebration of love and life–that has been near and dear to my heart for a long time. And now, it is with absolute joy that I share with you that I have a novella coming this December. Today, I’m thrilled to share the cover with you plus, below are the details on how to pre-order!
For a long time, I’ve been thinking of writing about a character who’s always been very special to me–Lonnie’s Aunt Sarah from the Cadence of Grace series.
I’ve always wanted to tell her love story and recently, sat down with pen and paper to discover it.Â
About This Quiet Sky:
There is nothing extraordinary about Tucker O’Shay’s dreams.
Go to college. Become president. Fall in love.
And pretend like he has enough time to get it all done.
Sixteen-year-old Sarah Miller doesn’t expect anything out of the ordinary when she begins her first day at the one-room-school house in her new hometown of Rocky Knob, but when she meets seventeen-year-old Tucker O’Shay—the boy with the fatal illness who volunteers to tutor her in algebra—she finds herself swept up in a friendship that changes the way she sees the world and a love that changes her life.
~ ~ ~
This Quiet Sky is a different kind of romance and one that I hope will honor the hearts out there that know a different kind of happily-ever-after. Those who found an unfolding of love that didn’t turn out as the story books declare it should…and sought the blessings in it anyway.
As a writer, I want to do more than search for beautiful stories;
I want to find the beauty in the stories that life gives us.

The novella is scheduled to release on December 18th and is available on Kindle for $2.99. You can pre-order it by clicking here.
Nook and Paperback details coming soon!

Ordered and marked the calender for the date it will be delivered to my kindle. I love the wisdom in the words you shared in this blog. You dare to delve deep into the heart and soul and then you share that vulnerability with us, your readers. SO ready for what you will share with us in this new novella.

Why thank you, Gabrielle!! You are so sweet! Novellas are fun, aren’t they? This is only my second one and I never thought I would write one, but I find the length very endearing. 🙂 I hope things are going well with your own. Can’t wait to see the glorious covers!
Excited you have a new book coming out! I loved your Cadence of Grace series and added to my favorites. : )
Thank you so much, Cathy. I’m honored!!
My dear Joanne,
Your blog posts and comments always touch me and speak to my heart in some way – word of a new novella is a double blessing from this blog. Your comments re: “This Quiet Sky” brought tears to my eyes – another emotional, touching, story – I’m sure it is!!
I did a pre-order and will also be joyfully awaiting the release of a paperback, which I ALWAYS want for those treasured books I love and want to keep to read again and again!! You write those kind of treasured books, my dear!!
Congrats!! Prayers, love, and hugs – Joanne!!
Oh, Bonnie, thank you so much.
What an encouragement your words (and tears) are. I can’t tell you how many nights, I’ve considered throwing in the towel on this project. I keep convincing myself that it’s not a story anyone would ever want to read. Then in the mornings, I make myself put one foot in front of the other and it’s words like yours, that keep me at that. Thank you. Hugs right back!
