Ok, I was going to say something cheesy about it being fall and the time to ‘fall into reading’ but I’ll spare you any attempts there and simply confess that my bookshelf is buckling in the most delightful of ways. These are just a few of the upcoming releases that I’ve got my eye on. See any you want to read? Any that I missed that you would recommend?
The Art of Losing Yourself by Katie Ganshert
A beautiful voice in contemporary fiction, I can’t wait to get my hands on Katie’s next book! And this cover…that title. It makes me want to step inside and know these characters.
The Wood’s Edge by Lori Benton
Lori’s sweeping historical romances set in the colonial era are never short of breathtaking. I’m eager for this one! And oooh, what a story that cover tells already!
A November Bride : A Year of Weddings Novella by Beth K. Vogt
Beth’s heart-rending fiction never fails to move me and I’m excited to read her next novella! It’s the last installment in the Year of Weddings line from Zondervan and each of these stories and covers looked amazing.
From the Start by Melissa Tagg
With charming story lines and endearing characters, Melissa Tagg is a bright spot on the fiction scene. She has another romantic comedy on the way and I’ve got my eye on it! I don’t think this cover could be any cuter.
How a Star Falls by Amber Stokes
When I spotted Amber’s upcoming novella with its adorable story line, I couldn’t pass it up! I read a lot of YA books and am just now discovering New Adult fiction. And this one just stepped off my TBR list because I finished it last night and friends, it’s delightful.
The Pharaoh’s Daughter by Mesu Andrews
There is something about this cover that’s so moving. And there’s something about the wonderful Mesu that has me itching to get my hands on her upcoming release. She’s a gem through and through and I am so eager for this story.
Why the Sky is Blue by Susan Meissner
Susan Meissner is one of my fiction heroes. I’ve devoured almost every one of her books and recently saw that her very first novel has just been re-released as an ebook. How did I miss this one!? I can already tell it’s a must-read.
You’re turn! What authors are making your shelf buckle?
Awww thanks for including From the Start. I just turned the rewrites in on Sunday (well, technically Monday morning!) and I’m really happy at how it turned out.
Susan Meissner is one of my fiction heroes too. Her lyrical writing…ahhh, it’s just gorgeous. Right now I’m reading Attachments by Rainbow Rowell…it’s been on my to-read list forever and I’m devouring it. It’s adorable.
AND I’ve got this wonderful novella already pre-ordered which comes out in December by this awesome author…I’m so excited for This Quiet Sky, Joanne!!
I’m excited to read it! Your characters are so adorable there on the cover. Such joy <3 And congrats on finishing those rewrites!! I loved your photo 🙂
Isn't Susan's fiction amazing? I haven't heard of the one you are reading yet, so I'm going to have to check it out!
And thanks! You are so sweet!!
Thanks for including The Wood’s Edge!
I’m looking forward to reading quite a few of those books myself, AND to reading This Quiet Sky. Love the cover!
In the general market I always look forward to anything Susanna Kearsley writes. She writes contemporary/historical blends like Susan Meissner, but usually with a supernatural twist added (it might be ghosts, or time travel, or telepathy). Her writing is lyrical and gorgeous. She’ll have a new book releasing next spring.
Lori, it’s such a joy! And so fun to watch your stories continue. If I remember correctly, this one has been dear to your heart for awhile now and I’m excited to read it.
I have never read anything by Susanna Kearsley, but now I’m eager to check out her books! Thanks for the recommendation 🙂
Such a great list! I see many here that are on my list as well– this is looking to be a great few months of reading coming up!! Including This Quiet Sky, of course! <3
Amanda, I still have Susan’s Shape of Mercy that I got for you (it’s signed!) and need to mail you!! 🙂 And thanks, sweet friend!
Joanne,
Thanks so much for including A November Bride on your buckling bookshelf! You made my day. I had so much fun writing Sadie and Erik’s story and being part of the A Year of Weddings series. And I’m really enjoying writing novellas too. I’m writing my third one now and finding the whole process fun and just more lighthearted than novels. (Maybe it’s because it’s all about the romance?)
I’m always behind on my Want To Read list, but I will say This Quiet Sky was superb. Absolutely superb.
Beth, It was my joy! Prayed for you this morning. It was still a bit dark when I woke, which immediately made me think of you and your early starts. Praying your writing and family time will feel multiplied and blessed.
Aren’t novellas fun?! Oh and I forgot you had written another before: http://www.amazon.com/You-Made-Me-Love-eShort-ebook/dp/B00HL6SL0M/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1413308976&sr=8-2&keywords=beth+vogt This one looks soo good!
And thank you for your kind words on TQS. You’ve been such an encouragement to me!
Joanne, this list is gorgeous! I’m with you in anticipating so many of these and yay for the How a Star Falls shout-out. I too am reading that one now (just started it) and can totally see what you mean. So good. Plan on finish it later today. 🙂
Cannot wait for Katie or Melissa’s. Exciting stuff. 🙂

Rissi,
Isn’t it good!? It was so cute! I started it yesterday morning, thinking I would sneak in a chapter or two, but I kept thinking about it and kept reading… and was done at bedtime. Amber did a wonderful job. And yes, Katie’s and Melissa’s both look so good. I like reading contemporaries. I like it a lot. 😉
Joanne! This is such a fabulous group of books, and I’m blessed to see How a Star Falls among them. Thank you so much for reading my novella and taking the time to encourage me! *Hugs*
These all look like great reads, and I’ll echo everyone else by saying that I’m excited about your own upcoming release. 😀
~Amber
P.S. *Waving to sweet Rissi!*
