Thief of Glory —it’s a book that came out last year and some of you have probably read it! For me, it’s been on my wish list and more recently, I’ve been chatting story and craft with Sigmund Brouwer, so I was inspired more than ever to finally grab a copy of this award-winning book.
When it arrived, I dove right into the first chapter and was so hooked that I was up much too late, flashlight and book in hand.
The story is riveting and the writing is absolutely stunning so I was thrilled to get to sit down with Sigmund and ask a few questions. Today we have that interview, PLUS, there are 2 signed copies of Thief of Glory to be sent to two random commenters, so be sure to leave a comment below!
Also, the sound isn’t quite lined up in the first few seconds, but hang tight, it sorts itself out. 🙂

“Emotionally riveting and exquisitely raw, Thief of Glory is an unforgettable tale about survival, not just of the body, but of the heart and soul, with an ending that will echo in your mind long after you’ve closed the book. Brouwer is a master storyteller.”
—Susan Meissner, author of A Fall of Marigolds

Oh, WOW!! Loved the interview, Joanne – and enjoyed the additional videos inserted within.
“Thief of Glory” has been on my TBR list for some time now, after viewing this interview – I’m even more anxious to read it. It sounds like one of those emotional stories I really love to read, although I’m such a “sucker” when it comes to emotions – I can guarantee you I WILL shed tears while reading it.
I’m so excited to hear about your collaboration with Sigmund on a story!! Can’t wait – but am thinking I may need more than the usual supply of tissues when reading what promises to be an exceptional book.
Thanks for the fascinating video interview and the opportunity to win a copy of “Thief of Glory” (and speaking of birthdays and Christmas – my birthday is Dec. 25th, so yes- winning “Thief of Glory” would be a double gift for me, lol). Thank you, too, for the gift of your beautiful, inspiring, touching writing – Joanne!!
Hugs!!
Bonnie, I’m so glad you enjoyed it. It’s neat to see how many of you have had Thief of Glory on your TBRs. And oh yes, it is definitely one of those emotional stories. Sounds like it will be right up your alley.
And thanks! I can’t wait to share more about the new story with you and the group! Happy almost-birthday, Bonnie, and thanks always for being such a joy!
I find it pretty exciting to learn that you and Sigmund are working on a book together! It should be amazing. I enjoyed Thief of Glory so much that I recommended it to my book club. I’m going to post a link to this page on our Facebook page so they can enjoy the interview too. Please don’t enter me in the giveaway since I already have the book. Thanks for posting the video interview.
Pam, I always smile whenever I see your comments come through. Thanks for joining in the discussion and I loved hearing that you’ve read and enjoyed this one. Knowing it got your endorsement for your book club says a lot!
Oh boy oh boy oh boy!!! I HAVE EXTREME EXCITEMENT SURGING THROUGH ME. I really love Sigmund Brouwer’s writing, though I haven’t read much. But what I have read was awesome. The first books I read of his were Merlin’s Immortals. Those books had me and my mom going crazy!! I still have to read the last book in the series and I’m hanging on a cliff hanger right now haha! But I so love his writing.
I also love historical fiction, especially ones tied into WW1 and 2. I probably love them more now than ever since my grandfather fought in WW2, so that’s pretty cool.
Let me also say that the best books are the ones that have real stories behind them. Those are the ones I enjoy the most because it gives more perspective on the story inside the pages!
The video had me smiling the whole way and I can’t wait to read “Thief of Glory”.
(My birthday is on the 21st so it would be niice to win hehehe)
Hello Miss Jen! Fun as always to get to see your enthusiasm!! WOW, I need to read that series. I hope you get your hands on the last book soon!
Isn’t history fascinating? It’s so neat when a novel brings it out in a vivid way for us to grasp. Sigmund’s novel definitely does that! So glad you enjoyed the video and I’m loving all these birthday announcements from you all. 🙂
Aww…loved watching this. Very cool you all are collaborating on a novel! What a fun interview! And as far as Thief of Glory, you had me at “this book broke expectations.” I’m all about those kinds of books! 🙂
Absolutely, Heather. This one definitely nails that description. I think it’s one you would really enjoy!
Well that was thoroughly enjoyable! The book sounds amazing and I look forward to reading if even if I don’t win! And I can’t wait to read your book together!
Big thanks, Melissa! 🙂 🙂
All fantastic thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it, Mary.
Oh my word I’m so excited to read this book. 🙂
It’s so worth the read, Michaela. <3
Sigmund Brouwer definitely breaks all expectations in all his stories. He mixes history, science, romance without ever overdoing in one area. I love that I can be entertained while learning. I have read a lot of books, but Sigmund, you are most assuredly in my top 3 favorites!
Hi Sarah!
Perfectly said. His books really do encompass all those things, but in such a balanced way. Thanks for stopping in! I’m really enjoying meeting Sigmund’s readers!
What a great interview! It was fun to watch. Have this book for my next read. I look forward to this upcoming tale! ❤️

Hello my sweet friend! So glad you enjoyed the chat. Isn’t it wonderful the way story can do that with history? I see that gift in YOU!
I gave this book to my daughter for Christmas last year and she absolutely loved it. She even loaned it to me to read so we could discuss it (I thought it was great too). Since she has a copy, I don’t need to be entered in the giveaway but wanted to say thanks for posting the video, I’m pretty sure she’ll want to watch it together after dinner this evening. 🙂
Good evening, Jan! So nice to see your comment here and to think of you and your daughter sitting down to watch it together after having shared the book! That’s the best way to read. 😉
