As most of you know about me, I love to cook. Just as enjoyable as the cooking, is sharing the recipes! So I’ve been working away in my kitchen and at my keyboard the last several months compiling some of the most popular recipes I’ve shared here, along with a handful of brand new ones. I’ve compiled them into a little cookbooklet and I’m excited to tell you that it’s in the final stages of being ready! It’s about to head off to the copy editor and soon, it will be an ebook! Short and sweet, with 10 recipes, it will be value priced and hopefully bring a little cheer–and a bit of a fun mess to your kitchen πΒ
In the meantime, here is one of the recipes that my pal, Amanda Dykes…dear friend and beta reader…just tested!
This is the Yogurt Blackberry Jam Bread. I think it might be my favorite recipe in the book!
She even sent me these lovely pictures! They were so blog-ilicious that I had to write this post and figured now was a good time to give you all a bit of a peek at what’s to come!
Today I am going to type up the final recipe which I’m testing for the millionth time (homemade Mac ‘n Cheese anyone?) then it will be off to the copy editor! I have had theΒ privilegeΒ of meeting a lovely woman who is going to be copy editing the project. Though I hadn’t met her prior to this, she was part of the editing team for both books 2 and 3 of the Cadence of Grace series so she’s not only familiar with my writing (er…typos) but she’s familiar with the characters. Characters you say. In a cookbook?? Oh, I forgot to mention that there is a bonus read at the end. Remember my free read that I had on my facebook page starring Lonnie and Gideon? Well that chapter has gotten a bit of a makeover and is going to be a bonus read in the cookbook. Just to make it more fun! And because I am a romantic at heart π
Let’s chat:
Do you have an e-reader? Kindle or Nook?
Right now it looks like this book is going to be on Kindle, so for all my Nook friends out there, I’m trying to come up with a solution for you. Also, if you don’t have an e-reader, I’d love to hear from you. Working on some plan B’s for ya’ll π
Do not have an e-reader. Any one for a contest to win one or better yet a book(print).
Good to know, Bonnie!
What fun!! I can’t wait to try *all* of the recipes. If they’re even half as good as the yogurt blackberry cake, they’ll be absolutely incredible. But I know every single one will be just as scrumptious, in their own delightful way. π Can’t wait!
Thanks so much, Amanda! I am so blessed by you and just smile whenever I see your sweet, sweet pictures. π
Wow! That awesome. I’m gonna want that cookbook. I love finding new recipes! π I do not have an e-reader, but I have a Kindle reader on my computer π
Thanks, Jenna! I’m so glad that you’ve come up with a away to get ebooks on your computer. That’s handy!
How wonderful! The blackberry yougurt bread looks so moist and yummy! Gotta have a piece. YUM!!!
Thank you! The bread IS moist and yummy. I will have to make it for you soon π xo
So looking forward to the release of your cookbook – I love trying new recipes! I have a Kindle.
Re: your comment to Amanda, just want to say – I think everyone is blessed by BOTH you & Amanda, because of the beauty in your words & pictures, your humbleness, & your love for the Lord!
Bonnie! I think you have the gift of encouragement! Your words touched my heart. I’m thankful for you! And I agree- Joanne’s words are truly a blessing. π
Thank you, Amanda, you are so kind! I have found many words of encouragement on your blog, as well.
I’m so glad, Bonnie! And I just love what you said about Amanda. She is such a dear. A true gem!
I can’t wait to try the bread, and also to get your book.
Thanks, Keren!! π
Yum!! I’m in! π I have a Kindle, so yay for me. I love recipes and I’m always on the look out for a new family favorite. Can’t wait to try them!!!
I’m so glad, Gabrielle! Yes… I am the same way! Always looking out for something for the family and I bet your kids are like mine where they love to get in there and help bake… oh the messes π
That bread looks amazing! I have a lot of blueberries this year–wonder if they would work? And excited about your pubbing endeavour! Yes, I’m borrowing a friend’s Kindle and I just love it!!!
Thanks, Heather! I think that would work great. This bread has jam in it but I’ve heard some folks talk about adding fresh berries and I think that would be so yummy in this bread!
Oooh! Exciting news, Joanne! I’ll be eagerly awaiting news of the release of this cookbooklet/extra read. So happy for you! Seems like you’ve been blessed greatly lately. Hope that trend continues.
Thank you, Andrea! I’m excited about it and it’s been a really fun process. I’ve been feeling blessed… God is so good and faithful in the ups and downs that each season is filled with it’s own blessings it seems π
